How ILF Launched Its Pipeline Business 50 Years Ago
In January 1975, our consortium member ILF Consulting Engineers partnered with Mannesmann on the turnkey construction of the Grafendorf compressor station along the Trans Austria Gas Pipeline, marking the company’s entry into comprehensive pipeline system design.
Despite limited references, ILF’s dedicated project team, led by Dr. Hannes G. Wechsler, delivered the compressor station on time and to a high standard, paving the way for future growth.
Fifty years later, ILF continues to expand its expertise and business areas, driven by lessons learned and a commitment to improving quality of life through engineering innovation.
This early milestone in compressor station design is part of the foundation that today enables ILF to contribute to UEST’s portfolio of underground energy solutions. As a consortium, we’re pleased to offer expert consulting services that support our clients throughout the energy transition.
